Wall of Shame – Terrible first impressions!

This week we have covered how important first impressions are when selling your home. The most vital moments are the first sixty seconds a potential buyer is at your home or looking at your home online, which means that your front garden and exterior need to look perfect. Unfortunately many people do not consider this when their home is photographed, as these examples demonstrate…

Blurred photograph, discoloured curtains, dirty front door (see here!). This house front doesn’t have a lot going for it.

Boarded up windows, overgrown drive, ill-tended lawn. As first impressions go, this is bad!

Weeds in the path are going to be seen by buyers immediately, and the bin is a bit of an eyesore. Oh dear!

No, your computer isn’t playing tricks on you. Surprisingly many properties online on Rightmove are like this. Not a great first impression; no one is going to open up the property if this is here!

Send any shameful property images you find to me at sam@home-truths.co.uk and I’ll publish them next time!

I sold my first property for Barratts at the tender age of 18 – the year I also bought my own first home, (I’m now on my 39th!). Read more..
